Mr. Phinney started his career in mining with Vale Inco and Kidd Creek Mines studying base metal purification. Mr. Phinney subsequently held various engineering positions through his 15 years at Potash Corp, which included being responsible for streamlining production, new product development, evaluating engineering proposals, supplying technical support to Potash Corp sales, and performing detailed process designs. Mr. Phinney served as the Director of Technology of Airborne Technologies Inc. from 1998 to 2003. In 2003, he co-founded Whitemud Resources Inc., a mining and manufacturing company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, where he developed a new process to produce quality metakaolin for the concrete industry from Saskatchewan kaolin resources. Then, in 2007, he founded Karnalyte Resources to explore the development of the carnallite/sylvinite resource within the Karnalyte Property, and has developed patent technology that is anticipated to produce high quality fertilizer products. Mr. Phinney holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering.
MBA, P.Eng, Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Ma has held senior positions in Process Engineering, Operations and Project Management and Construction, with over thirty nine years’ experience in engineering management, process design, research and development, commissioning, and operation of various mineral, fertilizer, oilsands and hydrometallurgical plants. His career has spanned more than twenty years of engineering in potash and potassium chemicals up to top management level, with a range including R & D, pilot plant operation, new mine design and development, process improvements and operations. He has been granted two process patents, with four patents pending. Mr. Ma worked for Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan as a Process Engineer at the Rocanville , SK mine, in the Research and Development Group, and in the Project Development Group developing a new 3.6 million tpy potash facility at Bredenbury, SK. He led a team of professionals on the Wynyard Carnallite Project, completing the bankable Feasibility Study and obtaining Environmental Impact Statement approval from Sask. Environment. Mr. Ma received his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree in 1976 and his MBA in 1998 from the University of Saskatchewan.

Mr. Plester has extensive experience in manufacturing, oilfield services and logistics management. This includes acting as a consultant to several publicly traded natural resource companies and numerous privately-held corporations, and using his expertise at a tier-one national law firm. He has B.A. and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Saskatchewan.
B.Sc. Mech. Eng., Senior Manager, Engineering
Mr. Olchowski has held management positions in Operations, Design and Construction projects in mining, petroleum, energy management, and bioresources spanning over forty two years. His mining experience has included energy, mechanical engineering, and project work with Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, redevelopment of a sodium sulphate plant for Ormiston Mining, and project management of the Whitemud Resources mine and metakaolin processing plant. He assisted provincial and federal government organizations on energy management and renewables projects. He has worked as Manager on Karnalyte Resources’ Wynyard Carnallite Project since 2008, with activities including leading the Environmental Impact Studies, engineering design activities on the Feasibility Study, process and mining design, and building and managing the Owner’s Engineering Team. Mr. Olchowski received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1972 from the University of Saskatchewan.
CPA, CA, Interim Chief Financial Officer
Danielle Favreau was appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer of Karnalyte Resources Inc. on December 31, 2015 and previously was Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Karnalyte, Danielle served as an Audit Manager and HR Manager at Virtus Group LLP. She has also served as Controller at Great Western Minerals Group and served many mining clients with Deloitte in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Danielle has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a CPA, CA designation from CPA Saskatchewan. Danielle is also a director of the Mendel Art Gallery and the Remai Modern in Saskatoon, serving on the audit and finance committees for both of these organizations.
